Extension Agent I 012002 - Nutrition Education Central MS Area
The Extension Agent I-Community Wellness Planner (CWP) position is a Mississippi State University Extension Service (MSU-ES) Office of Nutrition Education (ONE) position on restricted Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-Education (SNAP-Ed) funding. SNAP-Ed supports evidence-based nutrition education and obesity prevention interventions for limited resource audiences through complementary direct education, multi-level interventions, and community and public health approaches to improve nutrition. The Extension Agent I-CWP will provide overall coordination in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating the SNAP-Ed community-based program within the assigned county. The Extension Agent I-CWP will be responsible for building community capacity and forging partnerships in the assigned county for SNAP-eligible individuals and families. In addition, to delivering SNAP-Ed programs locally, the Extension Agent I–CWP will serve as a member of a statewide team to determine effective programming priorities and delivery methods. The Extension Agent I-CWP will be responsible for 4-H and community resource development to the extent permitted by SNAP-Ed Guidance.
