Mississippi State Poultry Science is one of six stand alone poultry departments in the country, with a 12 acre research farm that includes a feed mill, hatchery and processing plant; and two commercial houses in addition to the Poultry Science building located on the main campus. Starkville is a town of approximately 25,000 located in North Mississippi approximately equidistant between Jackson and Tupelo, Mississippi and Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to develop nationally recognized teaching and research programs in their subject discipline, pursue extramural funds in support of research aims, and publish results in peer-reviewed research journals. In addition to the potential for maintaining an active research program, a strong emphasis will be place on demonstrated ability to communicate and teach effectively, interact and collaborate with colleagues and to operate as a member of a research team.
Qualified candidates must have a PhD in poultry science or related field with poultry expertise required.
Preferences will be given to candidates with environmental/housing management experience and demonstrated accomplishments in research and grantsmanship.
