Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The appointee will assist on a variety of ongoing neurophilosophical research projects, including literature searches, surveys of background issues and work by other neuroscientists and neurophilosophers, assisting with any necessary empirical or lab work required by the projects, writing of research papers for publication, preparation and presentation of research findings at professional conferences, and collaboration with other neuroscientists and neurophiloosophers working on related issues. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Earned Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in either philosophy, with an emphasis on philosophy of science, or in a scientific discipline directly related to neurophilosophy (for example, neurobiology, neuroscience, experimental psychology, congnitive psychology). 

Preferred Qualifications:

Earned Master's degree (M.A. or M.S.) in one of the above-specified disciplines. Some experience presenting research (poster or oral presentation) at professional conferences. Some academic laboratory experience. Plans to further one's education at the Ph.D. level. 

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

No unusual physical requirements. Requires limited lifting of files and records and nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility.

Frequent external imposed deadlines; set and revised beyond one’s control; interruptions influence priorities; difficult to anticipate nature or volume of work with certainty beyond a few days; meeting of deadlines and coordination of unrelated activities are key to position; involves conflict-resolution or similar interactions involving emotional issues or stress on a regular basis.

Job frequently requires walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands.
