Recruitment, planning and coordination of college events


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with academic units in the college and the MSU campus.
  2. Coordinate on and off campus recruiting.
  3. Maintain relations with high schools, academies, and community / junior colleges.
  4. Maintain relations with MSU Career Center, Office of Admissions, Financial Aid & Scholarships, Housing, Office of Public Affairs, etc.
  5. Address and refer inquires and informational requests from faculty, students, and parents or guardians.
  6. Coordinate campus visits with prospective students and parents or guardians.
  7. Maintain prospective student contact files and databases.
  8. Assist with student orientation sessions.
  9. Collaborate with the Dean's office staff to plan and coordinate events for students, alumni, and donors.
  10. Recruit, mentor, and manage the College of Business Ambassador program.
  11. Maintain and develop the college's recruiting materials.
  12. Coordinate recruiting mail outs.
  13. Develop and manage annual budget.
  14. Attend on campus recruiting events such as Fall and Spring Preview Days.
  15. Develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive recruitment plan to strategically target prospective freshman and transfer students.
  16. Other responsibilities deemed appropriate.


Minimum Qualifications:

Education - Bachelor's Degree - Business, Communication or other degrees beneficial to position.

Experience - 1-2 years experience, demonstrated knowledge and experience in student recruiting.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with students, parents or guardians, academic administrators, and faculty. Experience in event planning.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  2. Travel in and out of state required.
  3. Proficiency in word processing and database management.


Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

  1. Work is normally performed in the typical interior / office work environment.
  2. No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
  3. Proficiency in word processing and database management.


Restricted Clause:

This position is contingent upon the availability of funding.
