Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The candidate will be responsible for project planning, data collection, management, and analysis as well as presentation of the results to the principle investigator. Individual must work collaboratively with the bacteriology team as needed. Position may require occasional travel for sample collection or presentation. Position requires strict adherence to all policies and regulations of this Biosafety Level 2 laboratory. 

Minimum Qualifications:

B.S. or M.S. degree in biochemistry, microbiology or a closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

B.S. or M.S. in biochemistry, microbiology or closely related field with a background in molecular biology. Documented evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills. Documented experience with experimental design and analysis. Experiences and skills in routine PCR and quantitative PCR and basic bioinformatic analysis 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent oral and written communication skills, experience with experimental design and analysis, and experiences and skills in routine PCR and quantitative PCR and basic bio-informatic analysis 

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

Laboratory environment, some fieldwork for sample collections. Occasional travel with overnight stay may be required for sample collection.
