The Department of Art is NASAD accredited and located within the College of Architecture, Art, and Design. It is approximately 300 Art Majors, 20 full-time faculty and offers the BFA degree with concentrations in Fine Art, Graphic Design, and Photography. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Teaching undergraduate courses in foundational drawing and design as well as other upper division courses in the area of expertise, advising and mentoring BFA majors, pursuing and publishing high quality research in area of specialization, and participating in department, college, and university activities.
MFA required. We are seeking a candidate working primarily in 2D fields such as painting, printmaking, drawing, and new media/digital processes. The successful candidate should have a strong and active exhibition record or show great potential for active exhibition. The successful candidate must have expertise in the discourses around contemporary art as well as contemporary issues around painting, and knowledge of the medium’s history.
ABDs or degree pending considered (all but DISS):
In addition to the minimum qualifications, a proven exhibition record and demonstration of excellence in teaching are desirable. The successful candidate will be expected to teach mainly studio courses (both for beginning and advanced levels) in drawing, design, and their area of specialization, as well as critique and senior capstone mentorship.

Advanced knowledge in their area of specialty and the record or potential for high quality research; excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with colleagues, and the skills necessary for successful teaching, advising, and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds.
