Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties will involve participation as a key member of a team. Personal duties will include large data analytics, decision analytics, and spatial analysis, mostly related to geospatial-based analysis, especially data collected from small and medium-sized unmanned aerial systems. Based on recent projects, duties will focus on environmental and agricultural systems, including coastal watersheds, ecological systems along the Gulf of Mexico, utility right-of-ways, production farms, and forests.
Responsibilities will include writing competitive research proposals, publication of articles in peer-reviewed journals, dissemination at conferences, oral and written reports to funding sources, supervision of undergraduate and graduate students, and potential membership on graduate committees. The position may involve teaching undergraduate and graduate classes.
The successful candidate will be expected to work with other faculty in the institute as well as the Office of Research and Economic Development to advance current research activities and investigate further research as needed.

The candidate will need an earned doctorate in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or closely related field, who possesses the potential for successful performance in research activity or creative achievement in a university environment and can contribute to the service of the unit, university, and/or profession.
