Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate the World Class Teaching Program adhering to university policies and procedures for operating the WCTP.
2. Support the design, development, and maintenance of National Board candidates. participating in the program. This may include creating, organizing and implementing professional learning workshops/activities required to make the program successful.
3. Must collaborate with other World Class Teaching personnel to manage grant projects and complete tasks successfully.
4. Must plan and lead meeting, workshops and presentations necessary for successful implantation of all programs independently.
5. Must be able to organize, analyze, and effectively communicate data concerning any and all aspects of the World Class Teaching Program support system and implementation of the program.
6. Must support grant writing efforts, including identification of potential projects, partners, and budget preparation.
7. Must plan events, meetings and trainings that are part of any given project or grant.
8. Must prepare and present project/grant status reports, including necessary reports and budgets.
9. Must be flexible and willing to change assignments and responsibilities regularly throughout the year.
10. Will serve a supportive role to the project director.
11. All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• National Board Certification
• 2 years related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Served as a mentor for the National Board Certification Process.
2. Familiarity with the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.
3. Knowledge of the National Board for Professional Teaching Process:
o The current process;
o The 25 certificate areas and their individual standards;
o The requirements for each certificate area;
o The Five Core Propositions;
o The Architecture of Accomplished Teaching;
o The Renewal Process;
o The Retake Process; and
o Mississippi Policies concerning National Board Certification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with different audiences such as: teachers, administrators, university faculty and staff, community leaders, elected local, state and national officials.
• Technology expertise (Word, Excel, social media, etc.).
• Ability to create and manage budget details.
• Set and evaluate annual goals at mid-year and year-end.
• Prepare reports for the program.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

No unusual physical requirements. Requires limited lifting of files and records and nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility.

Frequent external imposed deadlines; set and revised beyond one’s control; interruptions influence priorities; difficult to anticipate nature or volume of work with certainty beyond a few days; meeting of deadlines and coordination of unrelated activities are key to position; involves conflict-resolution or similar interactions involving emotional issues or stress on a regular basis.

Job frequently requires walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands.
