Experiential Education

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop and deliver programs and coordinated events to students and employers interested in Experiential Education.
  2. Utilize software to track students and employers participating in Career Center
  3. Experiential Education Programs (Cooperative Education and Internships)
  4. Report grades received from employers to academic offices by dates required
  5. Provide supervision, training and development of resources to staff
  6. Perform duties for director in her absence
  7. Other related activities as assigned

Secondary duties and responsibilities:

  1. Provide data to academic departments to support accreditation as requested
  2. Oversee the publication of co-op news and three newsletters annually
  3. Represent Career Center at conferences and events

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Master’s degree in related field
Experience: 7 Years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have a strong interest and commitment to the providing career related practical experience to college students.
  • Strong computing background with demonstrated experience with management information systems, Web-based applications and an affinity for applying technology to achieve productivity

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Excellent oral and written communication skills with effective public speaking skills
  2. Ability to independently perform high quality work following well-defined policies and procedures while simultaneously performing in a team environment
  3. Ability to initiate and follow through to completion special projects and/or assignments taking an idea from conception to implementation
  4. Establish and maintain productive relationships with students, faculty, employers and coworkers
  5. Must be able to engage in multiple tasks simultaneously

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

  • No or very limited physical effort required.
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job.
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
  • Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
