Department Profile:

ICET has a multidisciplinary staff of chemists, physicists, computer scientists, and electrical and mechanical engineers. ICET also employs students, both graduate and undergraduate, who further support research operations. ICET scientists have leading-edge expertise in testing nuclear grade High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters, and research and remediation of soils contaminated with depleted uranium.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Will assist in the assembling and disassembling of test equipment. Will assist technical staff in performing HEPA filter testing. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with major course work in a curriculum appropriate for the field of assignment.
Two years of post-secondary training in a curriculum appropriate for the field of assignment and one year of field and/or lab work experience.
High school education or equivalent plus three years of field and/or lab work experience.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Testing activities require assembly and disassembly of engineering scale test stands.
Safety requirements include use of hard hats and steel-toed shoes. Limited exposure to radiological sources may occur. Position wear film badges.
Testing is routinely continuously conducted for up to 120 hours. Shift work may be required.
