The Dave C. Swalm School of Chemical Engineering is housed in a state-of-the-art building dedicated to Chemical & Petroleum Engineering. The School currently enrolls over 500 undergraduate and graduate students with approximately 450 in undergraduate chemical engineering and 80 in petroleum engineering. Currently 15 members comprise the faculty with three dedicated to delivering the petroleum engineering curriculum and two serving administratively in the Swalm School (as Director) and the Bagley College of Engineering (as Dean).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Chemical Engineering.
- Responsible for establishing an externally funded research program.
- Serve as an academic advisor to graduate and undergraduate students.
- Supervise research graduate assistants.
- Publish the results of personal and sponsored research in archival journals refereed by his/her peers.
- Provide leadership and service for school, college, and university programs.
- Provide services to other state agencies and citizens of the State of Mississippi.
- Pursue scholarly and professional activities that will keep him/her at the leading edge in their field.
B.S. and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a related field. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
ABDs or degree pending considered (all but DISS):
The School is especially interested in candidates with interest in the area of optoelectronics materials. Applicants with background in modeling photophysical phenomena and/or synthesis and characterization of low band gap organic materials are particularly encouraged to apply.
