Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The trainee will be under supervision of specialists in poultry production diseases, medicine and pathology. Participation in applied research is expected. The service component of the residency will be acting assistant site veterinarian to the poultry veterinarians. The resident is expected to conduct routine health management, assist in evaluation of clinical trials, initiate diagnostic investigations, and assist in data management and interpretation. In addition, the resident may cooperate in veterinary student teaching and CVM outrearch.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualifications include a DVM. Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Candidates must be highly motivated and physically capable of work in harsh outdoor environments. The ability to attain regular licensure in Mississippi is expected.

Preferred Qualifications:

Applicants with 1 or more years of experience in relevant clinical practice, or those with strong poultry backgrounds are preferred.
