The Small Animal Internal Medicine Residency at the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine is a three-year program. The primary objectives of our program are: 1. To provide advanced training and experience in the specialty of small animal veterinary internal medicine 2. To provide an exposure to clinical research 3. To provide experience in the preparation of scientific articles for presentation and publication 4. To provide teaching experience in both formal lecture and laboratory situations, 5. To prepare for the ACVIM qualifying and certifying examinations. These goals will be achieved by working closely with senior faculty, daily Medicine service case rounds, daily intern/resident rounds, weekly Medicine journal club, seminars and clinical presentations, board preparation, individual case responsibility, and providing the highest quality patient care.
