Manage a variety of activities, projects, grants, and requests for services from external clients and customers, as well as internal MSU and RCU related projects. The Project Manager will plan and implement projects. This individual will manage and lead a team as necessary to complete the project. The projects are education related and will require working with secondary schools. Project will include developing and coordinating training both in-person and online. Activities may also include other RCU projects including the areas of curriculum writing, assessment, evaluation, and professional learning.

The managing editor will coordinate all efforts for the established Connections magazine and a new magazine in development, both disseminated to thousands of K-12 education stakeholders statewide in print and digital versions. In this capacity, the managing editor will serve as main feature writer for these publications, as well as manage trafficking of written content, versions and final drafts of stories to appropriate staff; manage social media for the publications; and collaborate closely with the RCU’s editor designers on print and web publications. The managing editor will be responsible for ensuring the department’s editorial standards are met; the magazine’s overall production schedule stays on track; and the publications’ quality is high. The staff member will also contribute to and/or manage additional RCU publications, such as reports, research briefs, and promotional materials as needed. Manage a variety of activities related to the coordination, development and implementation of the statewide career and technical education student testing program, Mississippi Career Planning and Assessment System, and related activities. The Project Manager will plan and implement projects such as online and face-to-face training events and communication tasks related to analyzing and interpreting student testing data, to implementing and maintaining student testing and assessment services within the Mississippi Department of Education’s statewide assessment guidelines and standards. Activities may also include other RCU projects including the areas of curriculum writing, assessment, evaluation, and professional learning.
