The H.H. Leveck Animal Research Center consists of 1,200 acres of land adjacent to the Mississippi State University campus of which 250 acres is devoted to horse production. The current university horse herd consists of 70 horses used for teaching, research, and extension activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Agricultural Technician will assist the Facilities Supervisor in activities associated with the care of the horse herd including palpation, ultrasound and general management of breeding animals. Assist with the care of the horse herd including feeding, foaling, health and foot care, record keeping, ordering supplies, maintenance of facilities and equipment. Assist and support faculty with instructional courses, extension programs, and research activities, field days, tours, shows and sales.
High school diploma.
Six months of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified AND six months of general experience.
Bachelor of Science degree in animal and dairy science or closely related field and at least one year of experience working with and managing horses.
