Department Profile:

The Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Entomology & Plant Pathology is a comprehensive department with an academic, research and service mission. The Department offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from the College of Agriculture and Life Science, and currently advises approximately 330 undergraduates and 60 graduate students.

Area of Specialization:

Insect Rearing

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assist in all aspects of rearing insects (diet preparation, feeding, transfer of insects to new containers, etc.) as directed.
2. Assist in maintaining laboratory facilities and supplies in a neat and clean condition.
3. Purchase laboratory and insect rearing supplies as needed.
4. Assist in conducting laboratory, greenhouse and field research as directed.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in Rearing Insects

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to read, write, follow instructions, work well supervised or unsupervised, and work well in a team setting.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Most work is performed in a laboratory, but field work will be required at times, sometimes in hot and humid conditions.
