To coordinate and supervise the work of subordinate custodial employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate in cleaning and upkeep of residential buildings, including bedrooms, bathrooms, hallways, and lobbies.
Supervise and coordinate the work of custodians in the cleaning and upkeep of a residential building or group of residential buildings.
Assign work to Custodians.
Inspect work of Custodians for proper completion of tasks.
Report building repair needs to appropriate personnel.
Advise Custodians of work methods and in use of materials and equipment used in work. Requisition supplies and equipment and maintain security of such.
Render training to employees as needed.
Assist in scheduling vacations for subordinates.
Supervise employees in set-ups for special events.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Partial high school education
Two years of experience as a Custodian.
Previous supervisory experience.
Any equivalent combination of related experience and/or education approved by the Department of Human Resources Management.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Regularly involves lifting, bending or other physical exertion.
Often exposed to one or more elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc.
Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and predictable; priorities can be anticipated; some interruptions are present; travel or other inconveniences have advance notice; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.
Job frequently requires standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
Job occasionally requires sitting, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, and lifting more than 100 pounds.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
