The Extension Associate assists Extension faculty with the development and implementation of statewide Extension programs including Sustainable Agricultural Research and Development (SARE) programming and livestock Extension programs for youth and producer audiences.

The Animal and Dairy Sciences Department currently houses approximately 420 undergraduate students, 35 graduate students, and 20 faculty, both on the main campus and at Research and Extension Centers throughout Mississippi. The Department has Extension programs that include dairy, beef, equine, sheep, goats, swine, and youth livestock.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include educational programming in animal agriculture providing educational opportunities and activities including SARE programming and support of statewide Extension programs led by Extension faculty within the Department. The incumbent will organize meetings, lead and assist in trainings, and prepare and disseminate outreach materials, Extension publications, and technical reports. Excellence in interpersonal communication is essential. The Extension Associate will support MSU Extension's diversity and AA/EEO commitments.
Bachelor's degree with major course work in Animal and Dairy Sciences.
Rank and salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
Excellence in interpersonal communication and commitment to teamwork are essential. Extension, applied research, outreach, or education experience are preferred.
