Drive Mobile Resource & Referral (recreational vehicle) units to scheduled destinations across the state. Responsible for transporting mobile units to and from maintenance visits as necessary.

Salary Grade:  07

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following examples are intended as illustrations only of the various types of duties assigned in positions allocated to this classification. The absence of specific statements of duties does not exclude those tasks from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment of the position.

1. Drive mobile units safely to and from scheduled locations for site visits at designated times.
2. Set up mobile unit at the designated location to be secure for program staff and visitors to the mobile unit. Make sure generator, air conditioning, heating, and other facilities are working properly.
3. Driver may be required to stay on board for the duration of the visit or be required to make sure mobile unit is secure and return home until visit has ended. Once visit has ended, driver is required to return to mobile unit and return it to designated parking area.
4. At the end of each visit, make sure all materials are stored away correctly and unit is prepared for transport. Mobile unit should be returned to designated parking area at the end of each visit.
5. Transport mobile unit to maintenance appointments and back to designated parking area once maintenance has been conducted.
6. Check vehicles weekly and attend to any maintenance needs so vehicle are ready for travel. Examples of maintenance needs include: making minor repairs and changing tires as needed, inspecting vehicle and checking fluid levels prior to departure.
7. Any other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Valid MS CDL License.
2. Valid Driver’s License and the ability to travel as required during performance of assigned tasks.
3. No history of serious traffic or serious driving violations.
4. Pass initial drug tests. Regular drug tests may be required throughout employment period.
5. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to travel out of local area.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

1. Ability to travel out of local area. Overnight travel will be required. Use of personal car required.
2. Irregular hours may be anticipated; meeting of deadlines and coordination of unrelated activities are key to this position.
3. Job frequently requires walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands.
4. Job requires standing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
