Under the direction of the Executive Director for Communication and Donor Relations, the Communications Specialist (Digital Media) is responsible for managing digital media projects and producing small video features for the division.

Salary Grade:  14

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Work closely with senior management to develop strategies for effective digital media campaigns.
2. Work with core team members to select the appropriate media outlet for marketing campaigns.
3. Placing approved content on media platforms.
4. Work with the communication team with ensuring brand awareness and consistent messaging for the division.
5. Assisting in producing small project videos for the division such as the monthly e-newsletters, scholarship profile videos, etc.
6. Create, manage, and publish graphics for digital signage.
7. Remain relevant with digital media standards, trends, and technology and evaluate emerging technologies and platforms with a goal of implementing strategies as appropriate.
8. Manage the web-based online communication system.
9. Manage the content for the division’s websites.
10. Produce web analytics.
11. Manages and utilizes constituent data to optimize email campaigns, including A/B testing.
12. Responsible for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and SEM (Search Engine Marketing) for division, ensuring ad campaign success.
13. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in communication or a related field.
2. Familiarity with Web-based communication usage and styles.
3. Experience in video production and editing.
4. Two years of directly related experience.
Any equivalent combination of related experience and/or education approved by the Department of Human Resources Management.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Knowledge of Drupal
2. Experience with Blackbaud or CRM products
3. Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Strong writing skills.
2. Experience working in Adobe Creative Suite.
3. Knowledge of graphic design techniques and software.
4. Ability to prioritize competing demand and to meet deadlines.
5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
