The Assistant Director of Football Technology assists the Director of Football Technology in all aspects of football video and technology operations including, but not limited to, camera operation, video editing, data reconciling, A/V system support, basic IT support, and A/V setup for football games, practices, workouts, and meetings. This is a full-time position that will require working some non-traditional hours (including nights, weekend, and holidays during football season and when needed during the off-season) plus team travel. This is not a production position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Camera Operation – Shooting games, practices, workouts, and special events.
• Editing – Import video, mark clips, create edits/sequences, and enter/import/reconcile data for viewing by the coaching staff. This includes game, practice, workout, opponent video, and special projects.
• Technical Support – Provides technical support for A/V systems and basic IT support for the entire football operation.
• Assist in setup of computers and video equipment used in meeting rooms at the team facility and home/away hotels.
• Assist in the preparation of video edits for iPad/computer use by the coaching staff following games and practices.
• Assist with recruiting events (official visits, unofficial visits, facility setup, highlight video viewings, other duties as assigned).
• Minor production projects.
• Assist with football video office day-to-day operation.
• Assist with maintaining all video and technological equipment.
• Observe safety and security precautions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree plus one (1) year of work experience as a student worker, Graduate Assistant, or Intern in a college or professional sports video setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

Two (2) years of experience working as a Graduate Assistant, Intern, Assistant Video Coordinator, or Video Coordinator in a college or professional sports video setting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Experience with Catapult Sports / XOS Thunder, DVSport, or comparable sports video software systems
• Experience with professional video cameras and video equipment
• Experience working in a collegiate or professional sports video department.
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro or comparable postproduction software.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Must be self-motivated
• Must adhere to all NCAA, SEC, and Mississippi State University rules and regulations.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

• Ability to work a flexible schedule with non-traditional hours including weekends and holidays and team travel.
• Ability to lift, move, and pull equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to reach, bend, sit and/or stand, climb or balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use hands.
• Ability to run with camera while shooting on-field drills.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to take direction in a high pressure, fast-paced, ever-changing work environment.
