Department Profile:
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Mississippi State University (MSU) consists of 27 faculty members (including seven endowed professors), seven professional staff, and over 700 undergraduate and graduate students, with 100 being at the Ph.D. level. With research expenditures consistently over $10M per year, the department houses the largest High Voltage Laboratory among North American Universities. It is the future home of the NSF wireless testbed AREPAW.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Research: performs and publishes research in the areas of interest and advances state of the art; obtains research grants/contracts with federal government and private industry; keeps other faculty members and students informed of advances in the areas of interest.
Collaboration: research performed will be in collaboration with the Mississippi State University (MSU) National Strategic Planning and Analysis Research Center (nSPARC) [https://www.nsparc.msstate.edu/]. The incumbent is expected to finds methods, venues, projects, topics that will assist in ECE faculty, staff, and students, and nSPRAC researchers to work together on topics of mutual interest.
Other duties: as assigned by the ECE department head and the executive director of nSPARC.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates for the position are expected to hold a Ph.D. in electrical engineering or computer engineering or a closely related field. The rank will be at the Assistant Research Professor level.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to individuals with a record of research experience, a substantial record of peer-reviewed publications, working on transdisciplinary topics, and demonstrated ability to secure external funding.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
No unusual physical requirements. Requires limited lifting of files and records and work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
Job frequently requires walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, and handling objects with hands.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
