Department Profile:

The department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Mississippi State University consists of 27 faculty members (including six endowed professors), seven professional staff, and over 700 undergraduate and graduate students, with approximately 100 being at the Ph.D. level. With research expenditures of the department of more than $13M (2020-2021), the department houses the largest High Voltage Laboratory among North American Universities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Research: performs and publishes research in the areas of interest and advances state of the art; obtains research grants/contracts with the federal government and private industry; keeps other faculty members and students informed of advances in the areas of interest.

Teaching: teaches courses in the areas of interest at the undergraduate and graduate level; advises undergraduate students; guides graduate students in thesis and dissertations in the areas of interest.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates for the position are expected to hold a Ph.D. in electrical engineering (ABDs may be considered). The rank will be at the Assistant Professor level.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to individuals with a record of teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels and research experience, a substantial record of peer-reviewed publications, and demonstrated ability to secure external funding.
