Department Profile:

The School of Human Sciences provides education, research, and outreach programs related to human interaction and relationships, early childhood, child life, youth, adult and family studies, and teacher education in Family and Consumer Sciences and Agricultural Education. In addition, selected School programs focus on commerce, marketing, and using technology for problem solving and designing programs and projects.

Agricultural Education Leadership and Communications - Extension Program and Staff Development

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Facilitate Extension program planning and development process.
• Consult with Extension faculty in program planning and evaluation efforts.
• Develop educational materials and publications related to Extension program development, planning, and evaluation.
• Coordinate inservice educational programs related to program development, planning, and evaluation for Extension field staff and faculty.
• Teach one course each year in AELC and/or Human Development and Family Science (HDFS)
• Advise graduate students in AELC and/or HDFS
• Serve on theses and doctoral committees.
• Maintain a program of scholarship related to Extension program and staff development.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Earned doctorate in Extension education or a related field (ABD will be considered)
• Experience in Extension, teaching, research, or a related area

ABDs or degree pending considered (all but DISS):


Preferred Qualifications:

• Evidence of computer/technology skills, including distance education
• Demonstration of effective communication skills using written, verbal, and interpersonal techniques
• Ability to interpret research and technical information for the public
• Evidence of success in competitive extramural funding
• Evidence of conducting research through design, implementation, and evaluation
