The College of Veterinary Medicine, Mississippi State University, invites applications for a clinical faculty position in food animal medicine. This position will be responsible for in-house food animal teaching and service and occasional ambulatory service to farms.

Salary Grade:  UC

For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

In-house services including reproductive examinations, lameness/foot work, and medicine/surgery cases, predominately directed to cattle and small ruminants. This position may participate in field service up to 4 days per month. Teaching veterinary and veterinary technology students is accomplished within the course of clinical service. Participation in didactic courses in food animal medicine and surgery is anticipated. This is a non-tenure track position, with a clinical service-teaching combined FTE of approximately 90%.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications include a DVM. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills are required. This position requires a valid driver’s license, and ability to conduct vigorous physical activity. Attainment of a regular licensure to practice veterinary medicine in Mississippi is required, as well as ability to maintain Accreditation Category II. Practice experience and/or board certification in a recognized specialty are/is desirable but not required.
Rank and salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
