The position of a Assistant Research Professor is a non-tenure track position and will be under the administrative supervision of the Head of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) with specific direction by Dr. Vuk Marojevic, Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Salary Grade:  UC

For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department.

The department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Mississippi State University consists of 26 faculty members (including 5 endowed professors) 7 professional staff and over 700 undergrad and grad students with approximately 100 being PhD level. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The main duties of the individual are to conduct 5G security research, development, and testing on software radio platforms. The chosen candidate will actively participate in the design and development of an enhanced Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN) platform, AI controllers, and a testing framework for 6G research.

Minimum Qualifications:

PhD degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
Experience with software development, wireless protocols, or software radios.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Track record of publishing high-quality research manuscripts in important journals.
* Experience with: 5G New Radio; Software radio software, such as srsRAN or OpenAir Interface; Software radio hardware, such as Ettis Research /NI USRP's; Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN); Software development, maintenance and testing.
