Performs a variety of basic to complex data entry and customer service duties for the facility services function within Campus Services. This position requires a range of skills and knowledge of university and division systems, policies, and procedures. Must practice a high level of customer service at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Receives telephone calls and/or online requests from university departments requesting
facility maintenance services for buildings or equipment.
2. Analyzes requests and enters tickets into computer system. Prioritizes requests and relays to
the appropriate shop. All urgent and emergency requests are sent through open air radio.
3. Communicates with shop supervisors, shop personnel, administrators, and/or customers
regarding the status of issues and problems. May communicate with outside contractors and
vendors as needed.
4. Sends positive customer surveys to appropriate staff.
5. Reports outage notifications for the entire campus.
6. Demonstrates a high level of customer service to all constituents, some of which may be
upset.
7. Provides data entry assistance in other areas as needed such as utility invoices in Banner for
payment; invoices into AIM for billing; journal vouchers into Banner for the Facilities
Department. Reviews invoices and ledger entries as needed.
8. May be cross-trained in the billing of Utilities, Facilities Management, and Custodial invoices.
9. Provides oversight to the activities of student employees performing the same type of work.
May assist in training new employees.
10. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma
Experience: Two years of customer service, data entry, or related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in Banner

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
2. Ability to concentrate/focus and remain calm when experiencing high volumes of calls and
emergencies
3. Ability to handle multiple tasks throughout the day
4. Highly self-motivated, including the ability to begin new tasks after an assigned task has
been completed
5. Excellent oral and written communication skills
6. Ability to use excellent judgment in the performance of duties

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

No unusual physical requirements. Requires no heavy lifting and nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility.
Routines deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume is predictable; priorities can be anticipated; some interruptions are present; involves exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.
Job requires extensive periods of sitting, performing data entry, talking over the telephone, hearing, and handling objects with hands.
Job occasionally requires standing, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 10 pounds.
