Position Function:
Provides web development for selected Extension Service websites, consisting of a comprehensive range of associated web pages, web applications, and web-interfaces to enterprise-level software packages.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Support the mission of the Extension Service through the oversight, design, and maintenance of Extension Service’s multitude of websites.
2. Creates and maintains appropriate modules and themes for both Drupal and WordPress content management systems.
3. Develops online applications for use by Extension clientele and employees through PHP and other online programming tools.
4. Creates, develops, designs, and maintains websites for selected Extension Service partners and stakeholder groups within.
5. Edit and images, logos and other files for web delivery.
6. Maintains a high level of knowledge and skills in current web publishing techniques, and research new and emerging technologies and standards for web design, web applications, and online platforms.
7. Ensures website design and content is usable by all devices and that all such sites follow proper standards including but not limited to WCAG 2.0.
8. Provides support and training to Extension personnel regarding developing and updating web-based content.
9. Interacts with colleagues from other Extension services throughout the country when appropriate for the sharing of online Extension information relevant to multi-state audiences.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Experience: One (1) year related experience in maintaining and developing web-related applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a related field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Fluent with HTML5, CSS, PHP, JavaScript and jQuery.
• Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications.
• Knowledge and understanding of database design and implementation.
• Programming skills in PHP or other web programming languages.
• Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into responsive websites.
• Knowledge of React or Angular.
• Ability to use Adobe Creative Cloud software.
• Knowledge of dependency managers like Composer.
• Skills in the maintenance, installation, and upkeep of Drupal and WordPress installations.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
• No unusual physical requirements. Must be able to sit at a computer for extended periods of time. Nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility.
• Frequent external imposed deadlines; set and revised beyond one's control; interruptions influence priorities; difficult to anticipate nature or volume of work with certainty beyond a few days; meeting of deadlines and coordination of unrelated activities are key to position; involves conflict-resolution or similar interactions involving emotional issues or stress on a regular basis.
• Job frequently requires walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands.
• Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
