The College of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University is seeking a Small Animal Physical Therapist at the Clinical Instructor level for the Animal Emergency and Referral Center (AERC) in Flowood, Ms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary service duties will involve performing physical therapy (PT) duties on cats and dogs, and canine rehabilitation services on patients in the AERC Rehabilitation Service for the College of Veterinary Medicine. Teaching responsibilities will include didactic and clinical training for professional veterinary students, graduate students, house officers, physical therapy externs, and veterinary technology students enrolled in the academic program. Teaching duties may also include providing lectures, hands on training, or demonstrations for veterinarians and technicians at continuing education programs. Teaching duties may also include the development of new lectures and teaching labs. The physical therapist will assist in maintaining equipment and materials necessary to maintaining the Rehabilitation services. The physical therapist will help develop and carry out treatment plans and other duties relating to patient care as assigned by the head of the AERC Rehabilitation service.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from a certified Physical Therapy program from an accredited university. The candidate will be expected to obtain certification in Canine Rehabilitation within one year of hire. The candidate will have proficiency in physical therapy techniques and will be able to apply these skills to veterinary patients. The candidate will be able to effectively communicate in English.
