Serves as a part-time customer service position for The Crosby Arboretum in the Visitor's Center.

Employees hired into Intermittent positions are limited to working no more than 720 hours per fiscal year.

Salary Grade:  UC

Anticipated Appointment Date:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs administrative and technical support and customer services duties, including but not limited to the following: greeting and orienting visitors, taking admissions and program fees, making sales in the Arboretum Visitor Center, operating cash register, answering phones, directing calls, data entry, recordkeeping, organizing files, registering persons for programs, and assisting with the set-up for programs and events. Will perform additional duties as requested by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma or GED
Licensure: Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in customer service, sales, and maintaining a reception desk.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Knowledge of office protocols, computer skills, organizational skills, recordkeeping, cash register, and data entry.
2. Customer service skills.
3. Ability to work a flexible schedule, with primary work on weekends and weekday scheduling as needed.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

1. Mainly indoor work, but will work outside during plants sales and other Arboretum events.
2. No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
3. Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
4. Job occasionally requires sitting, reaching, talking, handling objects with hands, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
