Position Function:
To coordinate and supervise the work of subordinate custodial employees.
Salary Grade: CUS-S

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the work of custodians in the cleaning and upkeep of a building or group of buildings.
Assign work to Custodians.
Inspect work of Custodians for proper completion of tasks.
Report building repair needs to appropriate personnel.
Advise Custodians of work methods and in use of materials and equipment used in work.
Requisition supplies and equipment and maintain security of such.
Render training to employees as needed.
Maintain time cards on supervised employees.
Assist in scheduling vacations for subordinates.
Participate in cleaning and upkeep of buildings.
Supervise employees in set-ups and clean up for special events.
Provide on-call calendar
Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and Two years of experience as a Custodian. Previous supervisory experience. -or- Any equivalent combination of related experience and/or education approved by the Department of Human Resources Management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent telephone and email communication skills, especially related to client service.
Must be capable of working in a team environment comprised of doctors, staff, and students to provide veterinary care of patients and aid in the instruction of veterinary students and veterinary technology students.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Job frequently requires walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands. Job requires standing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
