This is a 12 month live-in position where the CD resides in their assigned on-campus apartment throughout their employment. The length of appointment will be no more than (4) years. Teaching responsibilities involve didactic teaching and clinical training of professional students, interns, residents, and graduate students. Service responsibilities involve clinical case management, rotating emergency duty, and consultation with private practitioners. Clinical duties in the Small Animal Medicine service will be shared with four other faculty members. The service currently has three residents enrolled in an ACVIM-approved three-year combined residency and thesis-driven master’s program. Participation in the college’s continuing education and clinical research program is strongly encouraged, as is the development of a specific area of clinical and research focus and expertise. External grant acquisition and supervision of postgraduate degree students is encouraged and supported, and initial funding is available to support the development of research initiatives.
