The Department of Agricultural & Biological Engineering at Mississippi State University invites applications for a tenure track, 9-month, assistant/associate professor position in agricultural and biological engineering focused on coastal issues including soil and water modeling and/or seafood quality and safety. This Position will have a split appointment with an expectation for roughly 50% research and 50% teaching. Applicants should be committed to excellence in teaching and be able to articulate a prospective research program that has promise for strong and sustainable external funding and national recognition. Candidates with experience and expertise in all areas of agricultural and biosystems engineering will be considered, but those with strengths in remote and proximal sensing, analytics including artificial intelligence, geographic information systems, and programming, particularly with a view to agriculture and natural resources, are preferred. The Department of Agricultural & Biological Engineering at Mississippi State University invites applications for a tenure track, 12-month, assistant/associate professor position in agricultural and biological engineering focused on confined animal feeding operations, crop processing, and related structures. This Position will have a 100% Extension appointment. Applicants should be committed to excellence in Extension programming and informal teaching and be able to articulate a prospective applied research program that meets the needs of associated agricultural industries in Mississippi and the United States. Candidates with experience and expertise in all areas of agricultural and biosystems engineering and technology will be considered, but those with strengths in design of structures and environmental control systems, animal feeding operations (particularly poultry), crop-processing machinery and systems, and “precision technologies” including electronics, programming, artificial intelligence, sensing, and robotics are preferred.
