Research Faculty in the Social Science Research center hold non-tenure track, time-limited positions. There are three levels of faculty appointment: Assistant Research Professor, Associate Research Professor, and Research Professor. Promotion is based on performance and demonstrated competence. These positions are contingent on the availability of funding.
Salary Grade: UC

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform, direct and/or coordinate research activities in compliance with the terms of the grant/contract.
Prepare proposals, statistical analyses and reports as needed.

To begin as an Assistant Research Professor;
A faculty member with a terminal degree in behavioral or social sciences or related discipline, who possesses the potential for successful performance in research activity or creative achievement in a university environment and can contribute to the service of the unit, university, and/or profession.
To begin as an Associate Research Professor;
A faculty member who has met the criteria for Assistant Research Professor and has consistently demonstrated an ability to perform at a level of excellence appropriate for the rank in research activity or creative achievement and can contribute to the service of the unit, university, and/or profession.
To begin as a Research Professor;
A faculty member who has met the criteria for Associate Research Professor and has demonstrated excellence in research activity or creative endeavors and can contribute to the service of the unit, university, and/or profession.
The candidate must also have experience and knowledge of research methods, statistical analyses and demonstrated research skills.
Research/application experience in one or more of the following areas: the social sciences, health or health policy.
Experience with statistical packages and/or geospatial technologies (SPSS, SAS, ArcView, etc.)
Experience with extramurally-funded research and development grants and/or contracts.
