Position Function:

Provides support and assistance to the research program to facilitate research activities in a specific area of discipline.

Employees hired into Intermittent positions are limited to working no more than 720 hours per fiscal year.

Salary Grade:  UC

Please see Staff Compensation Structure or Skilled Crafts and Service Maintenance Compensation Schedule for salary ranges.  For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department.

This position is located at the Delta Research and Extension Center in Stoneville, MS.

Agricultural Aide

Anticipated Appointment Date:

September 2023. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Under supervision of the Project Leader and support research staff, the individual will routinely perform a variety of generalized and specialized duties related to experiments in the field, greenhouse and laboratory, using established methods and procedures. This may include 1. Collecting and processing research samples. 2. Establishing and maintaining plants in the field and solutions, and living organisms for applications, inoculation, or use in various experiments. 3. Operating, maintaining, and calibrating various field, greenhouse and laboratory equipment used in field operations and analysis of research samples. 4. Performing other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the immediate supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to follow instructions.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
