Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Teaching undergraduate courses in foundational drawing and design as well as other courses in the area of expertise, if available.

Minimum Qualifications:

MFA required. We are seeking a candidate working primarily in 2D fields. The successful candidate must have expertise in the discourse around contemporary art as well as contemporary issues around drawing and design, and knowledge of the medium's history.

Preferred Qualifications:

In addition to the minimum qualifications, a proven exhibition record and demonstration of excellence in teaching are desirable. The successful candidate will be expected to teach mainly studio courses in drawing and design. The ability to teach digital courses or Art Appreciation is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Advanced knowledge in their area of specialty; excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with colleagues, and the skills necessary for successful teaching, advising, and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

No unusual physical requirements. Requires no heavy lifting, and nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility. Minimal physical effort.
