Position Function:
Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor in Counseling at Mississippi State University on the Meridian Campus. The Division of Education invites applicants for a non-tenure track Assistant/Associate Teaching Professor position in the Counseling Program beginning spring 2026.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate teaching and advisement; supervision of practicum and internship; delivering services in the clinic; and service and outreach. This program is CACREP accredited, and faculty work closely with area schools, community colleges and clinical settings. Students in the program obtain Master of Science and Educational Specialist degrees with concentration in Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling. The division has also begun a certificate in addictions counseling.
Minimum Qualifications:
Doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited program with an emphasis or focus in Clinical Mental Health or School Counseling; demonstration of excellence in teaching, and/or service (Associate Teaching Professor), or demonstration of potential for excellence in these areas (Assistant Teaching Professor). ABD's will be considered if the degree will be completed by hiring date. Level of appointment is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Eligibility for licensure as a LPC in Mississippi or School Counselor in Mississippi; experience with CACREP accreditation; minimum of 3 years of experience in the counseling field; experience with teaching at the graduate level; experience teaching virtually or online; experience in addictions counseling.
