Position Function:

The College of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University is seeking to hire an Assistant, Associate or Full Professor of Veterinary Neurology. The workload for this position will include time allocated for teaching, clinical service, research/scholarly activity and other service duties. The assignment will be 0.50 clinical services/teaching, 0.25-0.35 scholarly/research and 0.15-0.25 other service duties and didactic teaching in the veterinary, graduate and veterinary technology curricula. Development of an independent research program is also expected.

Salary Grade:  UC

Veterinary Neurology

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The workload for this position will include time allocated for teaching, clinical service, research/scholarly activity and other service duties. The assignment will be 0.50 clinical services/teaching, 0.25-0.35 scholarly/research and 0.15-0.25 other service duties and didactic teaching in the veterinary, graduate and veterinary technology curricula. Development of an independent research program is also expected.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualifications include DVM (or equivalent veterinary degree) and completion of residency training in an ACVIM-approved veterinary neurology residency. ACVIM board certification in veterinary neurology is preferred. Applicant must be eligible to obtain veterinary licensure in the State of Mississippi.

Rank and salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent telephone and email communication skills, especially related to client service.
Must be capable of working in a team environment comprised of doctors, staff and students to provide veterinary care of patients and aid in the instruction of veterinary students and veterinary technology students.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Job frequently requires walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands.

Job requires standing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
