Position Function:
To coordinate the Bulldog Bounce Back Program and assist with various LSK courses. Reports to the Director of Continued Enrollment.
Salary Grade: 14

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist with the BBB required sections of LSK course 1053 Freshman Academic Foundations in the spring semesters. This course includes a variety of topics including time management, test taking strategies, how to increase concentration, note taking strategies, etc.
• Assist with up to four sections of LSK 1101 Freshmen Success Strategies as needed.
• Work closely with Graduate Service/Teaching Assistant, Bulldog Student Guides, and the Director of Continued Enrollment.
• Keep accurate attendance of students and report excessive absences to the Director of Continued Enrollment.
• Grade student assignments, tests, and assign final grades in the classes.
• Meet with individual students three times throughout the semester and counsel them on their progress by reviewing their grades, GPA, absences, and completed work.
• Advise students of tutoring opportunities available on campus, as well as other campus resources including Supplemental Instruction, Student Counseling Center, Disability Resource Center, and others.
• Collaborate with the Director of Continued Enrollment, the Registrar’s office, the Disability Resource Center, the Student Counseling Center, Athletic Department, and other entities on campus to provide a support network for students.
• Collaborate with other programs within the Center for Academic Excellence to improve student success.
• Conduct research on the BBB and create reports to deliver to the Provost.
• Keep detailed and organized files on each student in the BBB to refer to when giving academic advice and guidance.
• Work closely with the Center for Advising as well as the Director of Continued Enrollment and Registrar’s Office to identify and enroll first-year freshmen students on Academic Probation in Bulldog Bounce Back and the required course LSK 1053 Freshman Academic Foundations.
• Other duties assigned by Executive Director of Center for Academic Excellence.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Education requirements: Earned Bachelor’s degree in curriculum and instruction, secondary education, counselor education, educational psychology, clinical psychology, or a related field.
Minimum teaching requirements: At least one year teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Earned Master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, secondary education, counselor education, educational psychology, clinical psychology, or a related field; At least two years teaching experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Excellent interpersonal skills
2. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
3. Excellent computer skills, knowledge of spreadsheets, words processing, and PowerPoint.
4. Ability to work and communicate effectively with individuals.
5. Ability to organize and administer programs and curricula.
6. Ability to meet deadlines.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
1. No unusual physical requirements. Requires no heavy lifting and all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility.
2. Semester-based deadlines; change in work volume based on semester deadlines; priorities can be determined and expected; some interruptions may occur; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressure from other individuals aside from immediate supervisor.
3. Frequent meetings with students and campus colleagues.
