Based at the Social Science Research Center (SSRC) at Mississippi State University, the Mississippi Children’s Health Policy Project Manager will work full-time with SSRC staff on the Child Health and Development Project: MS THRIVE! to understand the challenges around children’s health in Mississippi and implement programmatic and policy responses to these challenges. MS THRIVE! is a partnership between the SSRC and the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s Department of Pediatrics, funded by the Health Services and Resources Administration. The project is designed to create and implement a high-quality statewide system for early childhood developmental health promotion, screening, and referral that will improve outcomes for Mississippi’s children and serve as a model for other high-need states.

Provide scientific data management support for deep sea coral research with NOAA and its partners. The primary role of this position is the stewardship and archival of data and other information products coming from deep sea coral cruises and projects, to include the development and continued improvement of techniques and workflows for data stewardship. A marine scientist or marine biologist with data management and analysis experience is required to complete this work. The position will be located at the Mississippi State University Science and Technology Center at the Stennis Space Center, MS. There is potential for occasional time at sea aboard research or exploration vessels. Salary commensurate with abilities and experience.
