Mississippi State University is seeking qualified candidates for the position of an Assistant Director for Student Services. This position is an integral part of our efforts to support the success of our students by engaging in intentional strategies designed to address the needs of students who have challenges with academic, health, wellness, conduct, safety, or their general welfare. This position serves as a part of the Dean of Students' Office and reports to the Associate Director for Student Conduct while also maintaining a direct working relationship with other key stakeholders at the University who are responsible for wellness, health, safety, and general welfare issues to students. The Assistant Director for Student Services has primary responsibility for coordination of case management, collaboration and improved communication among departments or offices, assists in coordination of continuity of care and services for students, and assists in a coordinated team approach to student services and University response to needs. Also oversee and coordinate operations of MSU’s on campus food pantry and MSU’s Food Security Network efforts.

The Civil Rights Specialist reports to the Director of Civil Rights Compliance and is responsible for managing investigations of alleged misconduct related to sex, race, religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, and other statuses protected under MSU policies and applicable laws, including but not limited to allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking. The position also shares responsibility with other staff in the Office of Civil Rights Compliance for the development and delivery of education and training materials to MSU community members, maintaining well-documented records and files, advising administration on civil rights related issues, and other functions related to compliance with civil rights laws, including but not limited to Title IX, Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), and the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA).
