Position Function:

The Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Veterinary Radiology at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. We seek a radiologist who is passionate about diagnostic imaging and eager to contribute to a collaborative academic environment dedicated to clinical excellence, discovery, and education. The selected applicant will join a growth-oriented team dedicated to diagnostic excellence, innovation, and education of students, interns, and residents. This position provides the opportunity to develop innovative research programs, mentor future veterinarians and specialists, and advance imaging services within a growing veterinary teaching hospital. Working alongside an accomplished team of clinicians and scientists, the successful candidate will help drive the continued evolution of veterinary radiology while building a meaningful and impactful academic career. This position is running concurrently with PARF 511291 with the intent to hire one position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Teaching responsibilities will include didactic/clinical training for professional, graduate and technology students enrolled at the College of Veterinary Medicine, and veterinary radiology resident preparation. Service responsibilities will be shared with three other radiologists, four current radiology residents, and three technicians, and will comprise small and large animal diagnostic imaging support in a teaching hospital environment, including participation in the after-hours emergency service. Establishment of an active record of research and scholarly activity is expected.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates must have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent and be eligible for licensure in the state of Mississippi.

Assistant Professor Veterinary degree, and completion of a Diagnostic Imaging (Radiology) residency that is recognized by the ACVR. Additionally, a postgraduate degree and research experience is preferred.

Associate Professor Veterinary degree, and board certification with a Diagnostic Imaging (Radiology) credential that is recognized by the ACVR. Significant post-residency clinical experience in practice or academia. Additionally, a postgraduate degree and significant research experience is preferred.

Professor - Veterinary degree, and board certification with a Diagnostic Imaging (Radiology) credential that is recognized by the ACVR. Extensive post-residency clinical experience in practice or academia. A postgraduate degree and extensive research experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Radiology is preferred, but individuals with other other ACVR-recognized radiology board certification credentials, and residency­trained individuals eligible for final certification examination, will also be considered. An advanced degree and/or experience in clinical research are desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent telephone and email communication skills, especially related to client service.
Must be capable of working in a team environment comprised of doctors, staff, and students to provide veterinary care of patients and aid in the instruction of veterinary students and veterinary technology students.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Job frequently requires walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands. Job requires standing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
