Position Function:

The Mississippi State University Meridian Campus is seeking an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor for the Department of Healthcare Administration. This is a 9-month, tenure track faculty position.

Salary Grade:  UC

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Teach undergraduate Healthcare Administration courses, in the areas of Managed Care, U.S. Healthcare Systems, Ethical Issues, Law and Regulation, Healthcare Policy, and Marketing. Eventually, graduate courses may be taught as the graduate program is developed.
2. May oversee student internships as required by the undergraduate programs.
3. Participate in the department's research agenda to include presentations at conferences and/or publications in Healthcare Administration related journals.
4. Engage in interdisciplinary research and collaboration within the institution and with external partners.
5. Mentor students and contribute to their academic and professional development.
6. Provide service to the department, school, and university through committee work and other initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Earned doctorate from a regionally accredited university in Healthcare Management, Healthcare Administration, or a closely related field. ABD status applicants will be considered if expected completion date is before appointment.
2. Capacity to successfully administer student internships in Healthcare Administration.
3. Established record of teaching and service at the university level for appointment at the appropriate rank.
4. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across disciplines.

Rank and salary are commiserate with education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Established record of publishing impactful research applicable to Healthcare Administration for appointment at the appropriate rank.
2. Ability to teach Health Informatics, Data Science, Decision Science, or courses related to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in Healthcare Administration.
3. Demonstrated experience with online instruction, development, and delivery.

NSPARC conducts interdisciplinary work across workforce and economic development, education, health, human services, corrections, and related public-interest domains. NSPARC seeks a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join an interdisciplinary team conducting applied research. The successful candidate will work with combinations of structured and unstructured data, including tabular and administrative records, longitudinal and time-series data, text, images, and other sensor or digital data, and translate research questions into reproducible analyses, validated models, scholarly products, and decision-support tools. The candidate will also design, develop, and evaluate artificial intelligence and machine learning methods for complex, multimodal datasets. A central expectation of the position is to work closely with NSPARC research faculty and staff to contribute to the Center’s research portfolio through the development of new research ideas, preparation of research proposals and grant applications, and writing peer-reviewed publications. The candidate will also be encouraged to explore emerging research directions, help formulate research questions, and contribute to collaborative and interdisciplinary projects. The role is well suited to a researcher who can move fluently from research question formulation and exploration analysis to model development, rigorous evaluation, interpretation, and communication. The candidate will work closely with research faculty, scientists, software engineers, data professionals, and students to conduct interdisciplinary research, and explore emerging research directions, while demonstrating initiative and intellectual independence.
