Position Function:

The Department of Psychology at Mississippi State University is seeking applications for a nine-month, non-tenure track faculty position as an Assistant Teaching Professor starting in August 2027. A doctorate in Psychology or related science discipline is required.

Salary Grade:  UC

For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department.

Department Profile:

The Department of Psychology is within the College of Arts & Sciences. It houses 25 full-time faculty members, over 800 undergraduates, and about 45 doctoral students in our Cognitive Science and Clinical Psychology Ph.D. programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in psychology with a focus on our undergraduate Distance Education program. Candidates should have a high commitment to quality teaching at the undergraduate, and potentially graduate, level. The successful candidate will also have service involvement in the Department of Psychology including coordinating aspects of our Distance program.

Minimum Qualifications:

Record of effective teaching at the college or university level
Ph.D. in Psychology or closely related discipline

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

1. Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
2. No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
3. No or very limited physical effort required.
