Position Function:

The Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a clinical-track faculty position in Veterinary Neurology at the rank of Clinical Instructor I. We seek a collaborative neurologist who is excited to join a growth-oriented team dedicated to excellence, innovation, and education of students, interns, and residents. The successful candidate will work alongside talented specialists, residents, interns, and students while contributing to the continued expansion of neurological services and helping drive the future of veterinary neurologist. With substantial investments in renovation and expansion of the Small Animal Hospital, this is an exciting time to join a program poised for continued growth and increased regional impact. This position is running concurrently with PARFs 508856 & 508905 with the intent to only hire one position.

Area of Specialization:

Veterinary Neurology

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Teaching responsibilities involve didactic teaching and clinical training of professional students, technology students, and interns. Service responsibilities involve clinical case management, rotating emergency duty, and consultation with private practitioners. Clinical duties in Neurology will be shared with other faculty members.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidate must have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (or equivalent). Ability to obtain Iicensure with the Mississippi Board of Veterinary Medicine is expected.

Preferred Qualifications:

Enrolled in a current American College of Veterinary Neurology residency

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent telephone and email communication skills, especially related to client service.
Must be capable of working in a team environment comprised of doctors, staff, and students to provide veterinary care of patients and aid in the instruction of veterinary students and veterinary technology students.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Job frequently requires walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands. Job requires standing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
