Position Function:
The Disability Coordinator provides direct services to students registered with the Disability Resource Center (DRC), including assessment, advising, and referral in all matters related to accessibility to campus services. This position provides consultation and guidance to faculty and staff to ensure appropriate access for disabled students.
Salary Grade: 14

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Conduct student access meetings, review clinical documentation, and determine disability status and need for accommodations.
2. Develop, implement, and monitor accommodation plans with students and faculty.
3. Maintain timely and accurate electronic student records.
4. Counsel students on rights and responsibilities regarding academic accommodations, departmental policies and procedures, and University policies.
5. Provide consultation to faculty and staff on addressing disability accommodations.
6. Serve as liaison to one or more college to assist students with disabilities and faculty in understanding disability access and accommodations.
7. Coordinate the administration of exams for students with disabilities, including scheduling testing rooms with appropriate accommodations; coordinating with faculty and staff to arrange exam pick-up/return, reserving testing rooms and computer labs as needed, and proctoring, reading, or scribing for students when staffing is needed.
8. Develop and facilitate workshops on executive functioning, academic skills, and disability related issues.
9. Monitor students' academic progress and make referrals to additional campus support services.
10. Attend and participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities.
11. Proficiently operate, trouble shoot, and train students and faculty on Assistive Technology used at the Disability Resource Center.
12. Serve as advisor for student disability organization DREAM.
13. Performs other duties as assigned by the associate director or the director.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Education: Masters Degree
Minimum Experience: 3 years work experience with individuals with disabilities plus education requirement
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree in psychology, rehabilitation, counseling, or education

9. Demonstrate the ability to remain composed during difficult interactions and assess competing perspectives.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
1. Work is primarily performed in an indoor, temperature-controlled facility.
2. Moving throughout office and to other campus locations.
3. Communicating effectively with students, staff, faculty, and prospective students and parents using a variety of communication methods.
4. Operating standard office equipment and technology.
5. Occasionally transporting or moving materials and supplies used in the performance of job duties.
6. Remaining in a stationary position and/or moving between work locations for extended periods of time, as needed to perform job responsibilities.
