Position Function:

In the Extension Center for Technology Outreach, the Extension Project Specialist will provide hardware, software, and user support to meet CTO client needs in the area of video conferencing, audio/video technologies, video recording/editing and will provide maintenance, repair, upkeep and support for computers and other electronics both in the unit and in all supported units. The Extension Project Specialist should use advanced learning technologies such as online training modules and courses, webinars, video conferencing to reach Extension audiences and other Extension employees.

Salary Grade:  15

Anticipated Appointment Date:

November 1, 2026. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provide technical support and training on a variety of video recording, conferencing, audiovisual equipment hardware and software.
2. Install and maintain networking infrastructure needed to support video conferencing systems including endpoints, LAN, and WAN components utilized by all supported units.
3. Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and Windows 11.
4. Knowledge of a broad range of software tools including Microsoft Office.
5. Design and implement programming of control systems in video conferencing rooms.
6. Provide video recording and editing support to other Extension personnel.
7. Produce and edit videos.
8. Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Audition, and Acrobat, for video production, graphic design, document creation, and multimedia content development.
9. Work and support the mission of all program areas in the Extension Service including Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family, Health, and Wellness, 4-H, and Government and Community Development.
10. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in an area related to Technology, Management/Business Information Systems, Agriculture Information Science and Education, or other related fields and 3 years of experience.

OR

-Master's Degree in an area related to Technology, Management/Business Information Systems, Agriculture Information Science and Education, or other related fields, plus one year experience.

Indicated education is required; no substitutions allowed.
Rank and Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Knowledge and experience with repair of multiple types of electronic devices including video cameras, video recorders/servers/storage devices, desktop/notebook computers, printers, monitors, peripheral devices, and networking electronics.
2. Experience and understanding of using various technology education methods for both in-person and distance education.
3. Experience and understanding of webinars, videoconferencing, development of online training modules.
4. Strong analytical and technical skills with an attention for detail and accuracy.
5. Skilled in working with video editing software.
6. Highly self-motivated and directed, with experience working both independently and, in a team,-oriented, collaborative environment.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
- Some physical effort required including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Some in-state and out-of-state travel may be required.
