This position will be intermittent assistance to conference and events coordinators.

Employees hired into Intermittent positions are limited to working no more than 720 hours per fiscal year.

Salary Grade:  UC

For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department.

Department Profile:

The Mississippi State University Riley Center is a Performing Arts and Conference Center that opened in 2006 in Meridian, Mississippi. We host more than 25 performing arts events as well as over 100 conference events each year. Visit www.msurileycenter.com for more information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

*Assist the Events Manager and Events Coordinator during on-site Riley Center events.
*Interact with clients to facilitate needs before, during, and after event.
*Ensure that all event vendors have adequate access to venue and outside parking.
*Conduct event evaluations and communicate any concerns or emergencies with cleaning staff and/or MSU Police.
*Enforce all MSU Riley Center Conference Policies and Procedures.
*Help maintain the security and safety of the venue, and help protect the venue's physical resources
*Help ensure all event and times are met, the venue is clear of all patrons, and the building is safe to secure.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent
Two years of related experience
- or -
Any equivalent combination of related experience and/or education approved by the Department of Human Resources Management

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

*Physical effort required
*Limited exposure to physical risk
*Work is normally performed in a typical interior environment
*Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling is required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job.
