This leadership position plays a pivotal role in advancing the academic and research agenda of the College of Business. The associate dean will be responsible for providing strategic direction, program development, and operational oversight for our executive education initiatives while fostering a culture of research excellence within the college.

Salary Grade:  UC

For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provide leadership and support for research activities within the College of Businesss.
2. Foster a vibrant research culture by encouraging faculty scholarship, securing research funding, and facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration.
3. Oversee the college's doctoral programs to ensure consistently high quality across the college and successful outcomes.
4. Collaborate with faculty, industry experts, and other stakeholders to design and develop innovative executive education curricula that address the evolving needs of executives and organizations.
5. Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, regulatory requirement, and best practices in graduate education and research. Oversee program assessment, evaluation and continuous improvement efforts.
6. Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to inform program development and strategic decision making.
7. Lead efforts to assess program effectiveness, gather participant feedback, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
8. Represent the institution at executive education conferences, industry events, and networking forums to enhance visibility and build relationships.
9. Teach as needed to support the needs of administrator's home department.

Future Duties and Responsibilities (Beginning January 1, 2025)

1. Supervise and lead the Graduate Programs staff.
2. Provide leadership and support for all graduate programs in the College of Business.
3. Serve as a key liaison between faculty, department chairs, and the Dean's office on matters related to graduate education. Represent the College of Business on relevant committees and councils within the institution.
4. Provide visionary leadership for graduate and executive programs, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and accreditation standards. Develop and implement strategies to enhance program quality, student experience, and outcomes.
5. Champion initiatives to recruit, retain, and support a diverse cohort of graduate students. Implement strategies to enhance student engagement, satisfaction, and success, including academic advising, mentoring, and career development programs.
6. Coordinate the collection and reporting of assessment of learning data for all graduate programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Ph.D. in business administration or a related field.
2. Tenured member of the Mississippi State College of Business faculty in good standing.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Strong record of research publication activity.
2. Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team towards common goals.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
4. Deep understanding of executive education trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
5. Experience with sponsored research programs.
6. Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and deliver high quality education programs that meet the needs of executives and organizations.
