Department Profile:

The Department of Chemistry is part of the College of Arts & Sciences and is housed in Hand Laboratory. Chemistry offers B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees and has approximately 90 graduate students and 120 undergraduate chemistry majors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Synthesize and isolate a variety of metalloligands that feature phosphines and main group metals.
2. Characterize heterobimetallic complexes through a variety of analytical and spectroscopic techniques.
3. Evaluation of complexes on their reactivity towards small molecules.
4. Drafting of findings into transcripts for publication.
5. Any other duties as may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Chemistry

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Know and experience in synthesize and characterization of complexes.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Work is performed in a chemical research lab environment
